Sec-Butyl Acetate (SBAC) also known as 2-Butyl acetate; sec-Butyl ester of acetic acid; 1-Methylpropyl acetate is a colorless liquid with a pleasant, fruity odor. SBAC is one of four butyl acetate isomers and widely used as a solvent for many different purposes.

3. Product application
Sec-Butyl Acetate (SBAC) is used as solvent in industries such as resins, coatings, printing inks, curing agent, thinner, adhesive etc. With good solubility and moderate evaporating speed, SBAC can be used as a low cost and low toxicity solvent to replace n-butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, toluene, xylene and MIBK.
SBAC can be used in pharmaceutical industry as extraction agent in the production of antibiotic (such as penicillin and erythrocin), hormone and vitamin. Besides, it can also be used as promoting component of drug absorption.
SBAC can be used in flavoring industry as flavors and fragrances due to its special fruity odor.
